White Collar on Chrysomela collaris
I am assuming this beetle, photographed at Melby Overdrev a couple of days ago (25/06) is a Chrysomela collaris, but I notice the ''normal'' collar colour appears to be orange. Can you please tell me whether the white collar changes to orange as the insect develops, or what the reason is for the colour variation? Many Thanks Debbie |
